Signals Manuscript Checks now spot image integrity issues with Imagetwin partnership

We’re pleased to announce a new partnership between Signals and Imagetwin that brings industry-leading image analysis into Signals Manuscript Checks. Alongside Signals analysis and Sleuth AI, publishers can now detect image duplications, manipulations, and AI-generated images, automatically within the Signals interface.

With a rise in problematic submissions that risk publisher reputations, research integrity checks are increasingly critical to publishers, but an array of fragmented checks can slow down editorial workflows. By consolidating Signals’ comprehensive evaluations and Imagetwin’s proprietary image checks, publishers can increase efficiency:

  • Combine multiple checks in one single interface and workflow
  • Analyse submissions comprehensively through author, reference, full-text and image signals
  • Run image integrity checks automatically via Signals integrations with ScholarOne and Editorial Manager

Tiago Barros, Signals co-founder says: “Research integrity shouldn’t require editors and publishers to juggle multiple tools and platforms. Our partnership with Imagetwin means our publisher users can now conduct Imagetwin’s image analysis alongside Signals Manuscript Checks—automatically and seamlessly within their existing editorial systems. Imagetwin are leaders in image integrity detection, and we’re excited to bring their capabilities directly into the Signals platform.”

Patrick Starke, Co-Founder at Imagetwin says: “This partnership makes it easier for publishers to identify image problems before publication. We’re glad to bring Imagetwin’s technology directly into the workflows editors already use to help detect image issues early, streamline reviews, and uphold the highest standards of research integrity.”

FASEB are one of the first publishers to trial the integration with Chad McCormick, PhD, Associate Director of Publications Research Integrity saying: “Research integrity and editorial efficiency are priorities for FASEB. Having both evaluations in one place provides the opportunity to quickly identify any issues so that we can focus on high-quality research.”

Imagetwin checks are now available upon request to publishers using Signals Manuscript Checks, via both ScholarOne and Editorial Manager integrations, and Direct Upload. Get in touch to learn more.
